DG NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, inaugurated the “Blue Economy Research Center (BERC)” at NIMA (K).

The establishment of this center aims to foster the blue economy sector in Pakistan through research and collaboration. The core areas of research include green shipping, ship repair and maintenance, ports and harbors, the seafarers community, maritime tourism, fisheries and horticulture, green ship recycling, maritime trade and industry, and the uplift of coastal communities.
