PRESS RELEASE – 8th NIMA BoA
Islamabad, 6th October: Meeting of 8th (Special) Advisory Board of National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) was held at NIMA Head Office, Islamabad. The Special BoA was convened to bid farewell to the Chairman NIMA BoA, Admiral Asif Sandila NI(M), the former Chief of the Naval Staff.
Director NIMA Cdre Bilal Abdul Nasir presented the overview of contributions and achievements made during the tenure of Admiral Sandila. His strategic vision, foresight, and unparalleled contributions were acknowledged by all the members and special invitees in their votes of thanks. The honorable members lauded Admiral’s contributions towards the growth of NIMA and the maritime affairs of Pakistan. Subsequently, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, DG NIMA also presented his acknowledgments to the Admiral’s immense support throughout his chairmanship.
In his closing remarks, Admiral Sandila thanked the Advisory Board members for their tributes. He expressed satisfaction over the accomplishments of NIMA in recent years, especially in enhancing its outreach at national and international levels. He wished NIMA smooth sailing in its future endeavors and assured his wholehearted support post-chairmanship
Admiral Sandila is currently heading the Muaawin Foundation, engaged in uplifting the primary education system across Pakistan.
