Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Sea Power Centre delegation led by Rear Admiral Dato Pahlawan Abd Halim Bin Hj Shaari, Cdr Naval Edu and Trg, along with Def Advisor of Malaysia, Col Noraripin Bin Othman visited NIMA on 04- 05 March 24. Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed HI(M), President NIMA, extended a warm welcome to the visiting dignitaries.

On day 1, the delegation was given a brief overview of NIMA’s working. On the same day, the RMN delegation participated in an international conference organized by NIMA in collaboration with its partner institutes, titled “Indian & Pacific Oceans; Challenges in 21 Century Regional Perspective”.

On day 2 of their visit, the RMN-SPC was given a brief presentation about possible areas of cooperation. The Malaysian delegation showed keen interest in NIMA’s working and wished to strengthen their bond with NIMA. Various issues like maritime security, strategic maritime environment, blue economy, and best practices in environmental conservation came under discussion. The discourse ended with an expression of desire from both sides to have more interactions in the future to explore the potential of the maritime sector in both countries. This visit marks a significant opportunity to foster collaboration & to open new vistas for cooperation in areas of common interest.
