12 Jan 2024: NIMA (K) team participated in the Exercise Sea Guard 24 organized by JIMCC. The exercise involves representation of various ministries, departments and organizations having linkages with maritime sector like Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Livestock and Fishing Sindh, Ministry of National Food Security and Research,

04 Jan 2024: NIMA (K) team participated in the sea phase of Barracuda XII exercise. Sea phase of International Exercise Barracuda-XII was held at North Arabian Sea. Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqar graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Exercises on containment of oil spill, antipiracy and Search & Rescue operations were demonstrated by Pak Navy and PMSA aircrafts, PN & PAF helicopters and PMSA ships.

03 Jan 2024: NIMA (K) team participated in second day of Barracuda XII exercise organized by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA). The second day was designated as land phase activity. In this phase it was demonstrated how PMSA tackles the oil spill along the coast.

NIMA(K) team headed by Cdre (R) Ali Abbas visited Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and had an insightful meeting with the Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh President of KCCI on the matters related to shipping and fishing industies of Pakistan.

28 November 2023: NIMA (K) Research team visited JMICC to attend “Exercise Tafheem”. In this event all stakeholders of maritime sector were invited and were briefed about the working of JMICC.

16 November 2023: In order to celebrate the World Fisheries Day-2023, National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) is undertaking number of activities to acknowledge the efforts of fishermen community and highlight the challenges faced during fishing practices.

29 November 2021: DG NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd) Abdul Aleem HI(M) along with his team visited Institute of Regional Studies (IRS).

11 Nov 2021: A delegation of NIMA visited CRIMA, Minhaj University, Lahore. The delegation was headed by Director NIMA(K); Cdre (Retd) Ali Abbas SI (M), Director NIMA(I); Cdre (Retd) Babar Bilal Haider SI (M), and Cdre (Retd) Dr. Anjum Sarfraz, Sr.Research Fellow NIMA.

25 Feb 2020: NIMA delegation headed by Vice Admiral (R) Abdul Aleem HI(M), DG NIMA visited Gadani Shipbreaking Yard. The delegation called on Dewan Rizwan Farooqi and other members of Pakistan Ship breakers Association (PSA).

26 Feb 2020: Vice Admiral (R) Abdul Aleem HI(M), DG NIMA along with Cdre Baber Bilal Haider SI (M), Director NIMA (I) visited 02 Rerolling Mills at Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE), Karachi.

4 September 2019: A delegation of NIMA headed by Director NIMA (K), Cdre (R) Ali Abbas SI (M) visited Korangi Fish Harbour Authority (KoFHA).

11 – 15 Feb 2019: The Dutch Maritime Delegation headed by H.E Mrs. Ardi Stoios-Braken Ambassador of the Netherlands and comprising of diplomats and reps of various Dutch Maritime Industries visited NIMA.

7 – 8 Nov 2019: A three member Italian Marine Archeology team headed by Dr. Piacentini Valeria, Director Excavation Projects Bhanbhore along with an official of Sindh Culture Tourism and Antiquities Department visited NIMA (K).
