The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) delegation led by DG NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed visited Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) at Uthal. The NIMA delegation was warmly welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Dost Mohammad Baloch, Dean Faculty of Marine Sciences, Prof. Dr M Aslam Buzdar, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shafi.

During the meeting, Dr. Dost Mohammad Baloch described the progress of LUAWMS over the years and highlighted the research projects undertaken by the university.

DG NIMA, while appreciating the impressive performance of LUAWMS in imparting higher education in the Balochistan province, offered NIMA’s platform for augmenting research projects, particularly in the maritime sector with enhanced collaboration between both institutes. DG NIMA also offered full support to the graduates of LUAWMS for their future endeavors.

During the visit, DG NIMA presented a draft for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to Vice-Chancellor Baloch, signifying the potential for collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.

DG NIMA Vice Admiral (R) Ahmed Saeed also delivered an insightful presentation on NIMA, showcasing its working model, areas of research, and national & international linkages.

The talk was followed by a question and answer session, providing an opportunity for meaningful exchange of ideas and dialogue.

The meeting was attended by LUAWMS faculty members, as well as researchers from NIMA, creating a platform for fruitful discussions and potential avenues of collaboration.
