The Maritime Winter School 2020 (MWS), organized by Maritime Study Forum in collaboration with NCMPR (National Centre for Maritime Policy Research), Karachi Chapter of National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) was conducted from 20t to 24 January 2020. It was a five-day event which was held under the theme, “Understanding maritime/communities, maritime economy /policy, marine resources/hydrography, maritime security and diplomacy,” designed for researchers/scholars doing research in maritime domain across Pakistan.

Among the participants were lawyers, media science students, IR, political science researchers, and research students of various organizations. Chief Guest of the ceremony was Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Chairperson Senate’s Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs. A theatrical play was exhibited on the closing ceremony of Maritime Winter School 2020 prepared by students and local fishermen community coming from Government Boys Secondary School Younasabad. In her keynote address, Chief Guest Senator Nuzhat Sadiq appreciated the work done by NIMA and MSF in dealing with sea-blindness and emphasized on sustainable policy-making in maritime sector.
