NIMA Report on Introduction to MARPOL Annex VI
Advancements in Green Shipping Technologies and Way Forward for Pakistan

In view of the evolving green shipping technologies under revised IMO’s obligations, NIMA conducted this study to serve as a steppingstone for more work to come in the Green Shipping sector of Pakistan. The study examines the provisions of MARPOL Annex VI for applicability in Pakistan. It highlights the importance of ratifying the Annex, preparation of a National Action Plan for reducing GHG emissions from shipping sector and harnessing international cooperation for Pakistan’s green transition.
