Objectives

  • Act as a Think-Tank on maritime affairs; giving independent & constructive input for formulation of national policies

  • Carry out research on Maritime Affairs focusing on economy, security and strategic environment

  • Analyze and evaluate national & international maritime issues/ policies with the aim of determining their implications and recommending solutions for Pakistan

  • Engage relevant ministries and other stakeholders to promote Pakistan’s maritime interests

  • Provide interface between various maritime stakeholders

  • Advise government and private sectors in order to enhance maritime cooperation at regional and global level with focus on Indian Ocean Region

  • Organize and participate in national/ International seminars, symposiums, conferences and related events on national security & maritime affairs

  • Raise public awareness and disseminate knowledge on maritime significance through active outreach programs including publications, website, media and other modern means of communication

  • Liaison/coordination with other research institutes to synergize research efforts

  • Establish reference library and authentic databank covering all maritime facets
