Countdown to Compliance: Pakistan’s Preparedness for Hong Kong Convention 2025
The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) hosted a WEBINAR on 25 June 25, a day ahead of IMO led Hong Kong convention enforcement titled “Countdown to Compliance: Pakistan’s Preparedness for Hong Kong Convention 2025”. The event reviewed Pakistan’s progress in meeting IMO’s ship recycling standards ahead of the Convention’s enforcement on June 26, 2025. Key stakeholders, including the Pakistan Ship Breakers Association, International Labour Organization, Pakistan maritime security agency (PMSA) etc attended and discussed challenges and advancements, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to aligning its ship recycling sector with international best practices and environmental standards.
