20 Oct 2025: The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) in collaboration with the Netherlands Maritime College University (NMUC), Malaysia, organized a international seminar titled “Modern Trends in Global Maritime Supply Chain – Prospects for Collaborations between Pakistan and Malaysia.”
President NIMA warmly welcomed all participants, emphasizing the importance of academic & professional cooperation in promoting the maritime industry. Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Capt. Norzali Bin Mohd. Zain, Dr. Hassan Daud Butt, Prof. TS Hj. Tomingan Bin Kamaror & Dr. Baber Bilal Haider shared insights on key areas, i.e., quality human resource, technical innovation, and policy modifications, which are essentially required to transform ports operation into efficient supply chain.
In his concluding remarks, the Chief Guest, Dato Capt. Razali Yacoob commended NIMA’s initiatives and highlighted the need for joint research, academic exchanges, and maritime industry partnerships. He suggested as step one to introduce mutual exchange programs.
