Government of Pakistan and MoMA Finalize Pakistan Shipping Policy - 24
13th Nov 2024 – The Govt of Pak – MoMA is in the process of finalizing the “PAKISTAN SHIPPING POLICY-2024.” It is aimed at revitalizing the Merchant Shipping Sector by replacing the 2001 policy with a more resilient, forward-looking, and competitive policy. In this context, a workshop to finalize the draft policy was held on Nov 13, 2024, at Islamabad, with all stakeholders. Participants included Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed President NIMA, Senior Research Associate Cdre Raheel Masood, and Maritime Law Coordinator Sher Afzal Khan Babar, who shared valuable inputs. President NIMA emphasized that the proposed policy must address the cardinal aspects of security & sustainability to attract investors.
