NIMA participated in The Investor Conference on Contract Shrimp Farming

31 Dec, 2024 – National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) participated in The Investor Conference on Contract Shrimp Farming, hosted by the Fisheries Development Board (FDB) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Karachi. The event united the key stakeholders to explore shrimp farming’s immense potential in Punjab and Sindh. Dr. M. Junaid Wattoo highlighted the economic impact of shrimp farming, while Ms. Florence Lik, DG MFD, presented compliance frameworks for global standards. President NIMA Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed HI(M) delivered a compelling keynote on growth opportunities, underscoring NIMA’s critical role in policy support and capacity building. With global insights from Dr. Kanwar Javaid Iqbal of FAO and engaging discussions, the conference was well attended and proved to be a valuable discourse for sustainable aquaculture development in Pakistan
