The National Consultation Workshop on the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage held in Islamabad

06 Oct 2025 -The National Consultation Workshop on the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage was held in Islamabad, bringing together experts, government representatives, and heritage professionals to discuss Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its submerged heritage. Organized by the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM) and UNESCO Pakistan, the workshop highlighted the need for policy coordination, research, and awareness. Dr. Aneela Khan and Ltd Cd Tariq Mehmood from the NIMA actively participated in the discussions.
